Recently I wrote about whether Volkswagen’s assault on the World Rally Championship, with the Polo R WRC, could help recapture my interest in the sport.
The Polo R WRC had a strong second place in Monte Carlo, with Sebastien Ogier behind the wheel. However, it was that other Sebastien (Loeb) who won yet again. Regardless of this, it was a strong showing for the new team and holds promise for an exciting season. Hopefully UK fans will actually get chance to watch it on TV at some point…
In the mean time, there’s the small matter of this rather epic video which I came across yesterday. If you like rallying, Volkswagens, snow, miniature drone helicopters with cameras or all of the above, you need to watch this:
There’s also the original version here with full-screen HD should you so desire. It’s such a well-edited video, with that amazing music in the background (‘Two Steps From Hell – Heart of Courage’ if you’re interested), that captures everything I used to love about the WRC. I’m hoping for more great from the guys at FSAviation over the course of the season.
Also, if anyone knows where I can get one of those Volkswagen/Red Bull/Tag Heuer bobble hats, I need to know!
